Community Roots

In my almost three decades here, I've developed deep roots in Carroll County.  My two children, Emily and Drew, were born at Carroll County General Hospital and thrived in Carroll County Public Schools proudly attending from grades K-12.  My wife, Marlene, and I both volunteered extensively during their time in CCPS.

Emily went on to graduate from James Madison University while Drew graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  Both received graduate degrees and have secured jobs in their fields.

I currently serve on the Board of Directors of the Carroll Literacy Council and previously served on the Board of Directors of Carroll Area Transit System ("CATS").  Over the years, I have supported numerous Carroll County youth sports leagues as coach, volunteer or proud parent including:

- Sandymount Rec Council Softball

- Roaring Run Lions Club/Finksburg Baseball

Winfield Rec Softball

- Maryland Stars Softball

- Westminster Titans Baseball Club

- North Carroll Hotshots Softball and

- Various high school programs

Even though my kids have long since graduated, I am entering my fifth year as football public address announcer at Westminster High School.

My wife, Dr. Marlene Titus, is a Professor at Carroll Community College where she heads the Business and Accounting Department. She has held offices in various local Chambers of Commerce and previously served as Chair of the Board of Trustees at Carroll Lutheran Village.

Marlene and I are parishioners at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Eldersburg and proudly support and donate to various local charities including the Carroll Hospital Auxiliary, the Carroll County Youth Services Bureau and Goodwill Industries of the Monocacy Valley.
